Supported browsers

We test the authoring tool against the latest stable versions of the major desktop browsers:

• Google Chrome
• Mozilla Firefox
• Apple Safari
• Microsoft Edge

Other browsers and older versions may work but aren't officially supported — we recommend keeping yours up to date.

The editor requires a desktop browser. Mobile devices and tablets aren't supported.

Autoplay restrictions during preview

Browsers enforce "autoplay policies" — rules that limit when a web page can start playing media on its own. When you preview a course in the authoring tool, these policies sometimes block the media from playing.

If that happens, the course player shows a confirmation dialog asking you to grant permission. Once you allow it, the course continues as usual.

Different browsers detect media differently — some use heuristics, others machine-learning models — so the dialog might appear once per course, every time, or never at all.
