Appearance
Languages
Each course can be published in one or more languages. You manage the enabled set in the editor under Course content → Languages.
Enabling and disabling languages
The Languages tab shows a checkbox grid of every language we support. Tick a language to enable it for the course; untick it to remove it.
Changes apply immediately. The only case where unticking is rejected is when the language is the last one enabled — every course must have at least one language.
Unticking a language that already has translated content does not delete that content; it just becomes inaccessible while the language is disabled. Re-enabling the language brings the content back.
What "enabling" a language does
Once a language is enabled for the course, every translatable field (course title, slide content, achievement names, and so on) gains a slot for that language. Authors can fill those slots through the regular editing UI or in bulk through the Translation tool.
For how per-language values are resolved at runtime — including the special INTERNATIONAL fallback — see Course localization.
